Dr. Marie Loyer

Dr. Marie des Anges Loyer embodies the spirit of the Generation Forward Award through a lifetime of service, leadership, and visionary philanthropy to support the nursing profession. She was the first donor at The Royal to establish a planned gift structured in an endowed fund with an annual bursary designed to create immediate impact. Her innovative approach to charitable planning demonstrates how legacy giving can create both immediate and lasting impact.

Beyond her philanthropy, Dr. Loyer’s volunteer leadership has strengthened health care and community well-being with the Canadian Public Health Association, Canadian Nurses Association, Ottawa-Carleton District Health Council Continuing Care Board and numerous nursing and public health organizations. She also has volunteered with St. John Ambulance and the May Court Club of Ottawa.
