St. Emily School

As part of the Ottawa Catholic School Board’s Social Entrepreneurship Program, Grade 5 students at St. Emily School chose the Ottawa Food Bank as the beneficiary for their fundraising project, Feed the Future. With guidance from teachers and community members, students worked together to create a working business model, sell products, and raise money for an important social cause: food insecurity. Together, the Feed the Future team learned how to problem-solve, create, and collaborate, ultimately raising $3,810.10 in donations, surpassing their initial fundraising goal of $3,500.
