Carmen Abela and WindReach Consulting Services show how a small, locally rooted business can create significant community impact. Carmen led a public awareness and fundraising campaign for The Royal that has raised close to $80,000 for mental illness and addiction care. Through the campaign, she engaged Ottawa business leaders in honest conversations about entrepreneurship, resilience, workplace mental health, and community responsibility. Carmen has also donated extensive governance and risk management expertise as a volunteer board member, Board Chair, Strategy and Governance Committee Chair, and Joint Planning and Priorities Committee member with The Royal Foundation. She also serves on The Ottawa Mission’s Board. Through philanthropy, advocacy, convening, and volunteer leadership, Carmen has inspired others to step forward and give back.
